Exploring the Historic Borough of Oldham: A Two-Hour Walking Tour

Our 2 hour walking tour of the Borough of Oldham, England, United Kingdom, will take us through some of the most interesting and vibrant areas of the borough. We will start our tour at the Oldham Town Hall, located at the corner of Union Street and Yorkshire Street, Oldham, OL1 1QN (53.541090, -2.110490). This impressive building, built in 1841, is a Grade II listed building and is home to the Oldham Council.

From here, we will head south down Union Street, where we will find a variety of interesting shops and eateries. We will pass by the Oldham Coliseum Theatre, located at Fairbottom Street, Oldham, OL1 3SW (53.542460, -2.108360). This theatre, built in 1885, is a Grade II listed building and is home to a variety of theatrical performances.

Continuing south down Union Street, we will come to the Oldham Market, located at Market Place, Oldham, OL1 1EA (53.566180, -2.122420). This market, established in 1844, is a Grade II listed building and is home to a variety of stalls selling fresh produce, clothing, and other goods.

From here, we will head east down Yorkshire Street, where we will find a variety of interesting shops and eateries. This library, built in 1883, is a Grade II listed building and is home to a variety of books, magazines, and other resources.

Continuing east down Yorkshire Street, we will come to the Oldham Art Gallery, located at Greaves Street, Oldham, OL1 1AL (53.541090, -2.110490). This gallery, established in 1883, is a Grade II listed building and is home to a variety of artworks from local and international artists.

From here, we will head north up Yorkshire Street, where we will find a variety of interesting shops and eateries. This museum, established in 1883, is a Grade II listed building and is home to a variety of artifacts and artworks from local and international artists.

From here, we will head west down Church Street, where we will find a variety of interesting shops and eateries.
