Captain Bob Danilo is the owner and operator of Rugosa and has owned the operation since 2011. Bob hails from Brooklyn, New York, and has been a licensed captain since 1986. He has had a career as a yacht captain and has traveled up and down the East Coast, Caribbean and Bahamas. He moved to Kennebunkport in 2010 and bought the Rugosa the next year. In 1987, Prentice-Hall published The Food Lover’s Guide to the Real New York, written by me & Hungry Pedalers co-leader Mark Clifford. Hungry Pedalers folded when I went overseas (South Africa) for four years. When I returned, I wanted to resume my passion for exploring New York Cit ... More y’s neighborhoods. With new family responsibilities, I had no time for bike tours, but I did have time to walk around and write. Ergo, Noshnews. Publicity followed: It has been mentioned in The New York Times, The New Yorker and Newsday (a great half-page piece by Erica Marcus) and on WQXR. NY1’s Paul Messina did a great story on Noshnews, following me through Sunnyside.
